Sonoma-Cutrer Wine with Dessert

Most of the time on my site I have delicious desserts, however there are times when my husband and I like to sit down enjoy the dessert and a glass of wine.  This is a time where we get to talk without interruption and reconnect with each other.  A wine we were recently introduced to is Sonoma-CutrerSonoma-Cutrer has been producing the finest quality wines since it opened as a vineyard company in 1973.  Its foundation is built in the hillsides and rocky foothills in the region recognized as the Sonoma Coast Appellation – this region experiences long, even growing seasons thanks to the cool, foggy coastal climate.  In the 70's, the company planted several different grape varieties and virtually overnight Sonoma-Cutrer’s Chardonnay grapes had gained a reputation for exceptional quality and were in high demand by many premium wineries.

One of the simplest ways to enjoy wine as a dessert is pairing it with grapes and cheese.  The flavors go so well together and it's something anyone can serve.  I love that I don't have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.  I just choose my favorite cheese, wash off some grapes and grab a bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer.  Then it's off to the back porch for good conversation.

Sonoma Coast is our favorite; it has a balance between richness and elegance making a medium-bodied, mouth filling wine.  The creamy richness is balanced with a bright acidity and a touch of apple, pear and lemon zest.  Plus it smells divine!  These wines are a pefect addition to a simple dessert, a dinner party, holiday or even given as a special gift.  If you're looking for a new wine to add to your collection then be sure to try the Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir or the Russian River Ranches.
