Sticky wing sauce and crumbled blue cheese baked into a delicious popcorn!
Ask my family and they will tell you my favorite snack is popcorn! I eat it so much that I went out and bought a standing movie style popper. It makes the perfect popcorn and I'm always looking for new recipes to try. The other day I was reading the paper when I saw this recipe for Sticky Wing and Blue Cheese Popcorn (by Diane Rossen Worthington)...I knew I immediately had to try it. How can you resist sticky wing sauce and blue cheese, they're the perfect combination. You can serve this for the big game, movie night or even a late night snack...it's delicious!
Ingredients are as follows:
8 cups popped popcorn
6 Tbsp. Buffalo wing sauce
3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 C crumbled blue cheese
Preheat oven to 300 degrees; line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Pour the popcorn into a bowl, removing all the unpopped kernels; set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, stir together the buffalo sauce, corn syrup and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture reaches a slow boil. Stop stirring and allow to boil for four minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in the baking soda (it will bubble a bit) then immediately pour over the popcorn.
Evenly spread the popcorn onto the cookie sheet.
Sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top.
Bake for 10-15 minutes; until the cheese is melted.
Allow to cool, serve and enjoy!
