Caramel, apples, cinnamon & sugar all blended into a cake that's turned upside down!

There's something about caramel and apples...the sweetness of the caramel and the tartness of the apples; it's the perfect combination!  I also love upside down desserts so I decided to make this Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake.  It uses everyday ingredients that are found in your pantry and it's easy to prepare.  The caramel seeps into the cake, it's all sticky and gooey and is down right delicious!  If you're a caramel apple lover then make sure you try this Caramel Apple Upside Down's love at first bite!

Ingredients are as follows:

6 Tbsp. butter
3/4 C brown sugar

3 medium sized apples: peeled, cored & diced
1 tsp.cinnamon
1/4 C sugar

1/2 C butter, softened
3/4 C brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C flour, divided
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 C milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease an 11 x 7" baking pan.

Bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil; continue to boil for a few minutes until it thickens up.

Pour half (about three tablespoons) into prepared pan.

Mix the apples, cinnamon and sugar together.

Evenly spread all over the caramel; set aside.

Cream the butter and brown sugar together.

Beat in the egg and vanilla.

Mix in 1 cup of flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.

Mix in the milk.

Add the remaining cup of flour and stir until combined (it will be thick).

Spread on top of the apples.

Bake for 30-35 minutes; until golden brown around the edges.

Carefully invert onto a plate (scrape out any apples that may have stayed in the pan).

Bring the remaining caramel back up to a boil and pour all over the cake.

Slice, serve and enjoy!
