I'm a huge fan of coffee; I drink hot in the morning then I switch to iced in the afternoon and then it's back to hot at night! When I was asked to try Cafe de Colombia coffee I was more then happy to oblige. They sent me this (pictured above) wonderful gift pack that included a French Press, a bag of coffee beans, a mug, an apron and a mustache which you'll have a chance to win one too...just enter the giveaway below!
I'll be honest, I drink Colombian coffee, but I haven't really thought about where or how the beans are harvested. I found out that the beans are grown on the slopes of the Andes Mountains that cross Colombia from South to North which is one of the best climates in the world. You can find additional information at The Bean Bang Theory and from this chart as well.
We are proud of our roots. Every Colombian coffee bean holds the
pride of thousands of Colombian growers for a job well done. It is the
product of the steep Andes Mountains volcanic soils, ideal climate, and
the careful hands that pick this coffee every day. It is also an honest
commitment to quality and respect for discerning coffee lovers, shared
by thousands of growers and more than 400 coffee brand partners around
the world.
Pretty amazing, huh? It's an honest company with honest values! I was excited to brew a cup of coffee with the French Press because I've always wanted one, but never got around to buying it. I like how the coffee is steeped for whatever length of time so you can make it as strong as you like.
I ground my beans, put them in the french press, added the hot water and waited about five minutes. I pressed and then poured out a delicious cup of coffee. It was a little strong, but not bitter at all. I even used the french press to froth milk and make a latte...yum!
Now wouldn't you like to win a gift pack and make your own cup at home? All you have to do is share The Bean Bang Theory (with a picture or video) on your social media accounts AND leave a comment telling me which account(s) you shared on!
