Thick cream mixed with seasoned apples that are baked into a delicious pie!
The other day I was at the store and they had canned apple pie filling on sale for .75 cents and it doesn't even expire soon! So of course I bought quite a few and I also picked up the new Extra Thick Double Cream from BK Creamery. A few weeks ago I introduced you to this new cream and so far I've been enjoying it quite often.
The extra thick double cream has 42% milk fat so it whips up perfectly and can be used is a variety of recipes. I decided to use it in this Apple Cream Pie which made a smooth and creamy center. The pie is simple to prepare, it bakes up beautifully and (if you can wait long enough) is divine when it's completely cool!
1 refrigerated pie crust
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (9 ounce) container Extra Thick Double Cream
1 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (20 ounce) can apple pie filling
1/2 C chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 9" pie pan.
Unroll the pie crust, place in the pie pan, crimp the crust then prick with a fork a few times and set aside.
Mix together the sweetened condensed milk, double cream, flour and vanilla.
Pour into the prepared pie crust.
Take half of the apple pie filling and evenly distribute throughout the cream mixture.
Bake for 15 minutes then remove from the oven.
Place the remaining apple pie filling on top then sprinkle on the walnuts.
Return to the oven and bake an additional 35-40 minutes.
Let it cool completely in the fridge; slice serve and enjoy!
If you'd like to try the new Bk Creamery they're offering a coupon for you to print out. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
