Delicious Nutella and Cream Cheese mixed together and baked in a flaky Croissant Dough
If you need a quick, easy and delicious dessert this Nutella & Cream Cheese Danish has got you covered! Nutella is mixed with cream cheese and a little bit of powdered sugar then baked in a croissant dough. The croissants make a flaky dough which holds all that creamy nutella goodness in. Drizzle a little bit of nutella on top, sprinkle with powdered sugar and then you're ready to sink your teeth into a delicious danish! This recipe is simple to make, comes together in a matter of minutes, and it's perfect for dessert or breakfast.
Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) can croissant dough (crescent rolls)
1 (8 ounce) block of cream cheese, softened
2/3 C powdered sugar
3 Tbs. Nutella
some extra Nutella, melted
a little powdered sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a cookie sheet.
Cream together the cream cheese and powdered sugar.
Mix in nutella until combined; set aside.
Unroll croissant dough and arrange it into a circle onto the cookie sheet.
Spread the filling along the inside of the dough.
Take the dough and flip it over the filling; press to seal the edges.
Cut the excess edges off and place them over the rest of the openings.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes; until golden brown.
Drizzle on the melted nutella and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Slice, serve and enjoy!

ReplyDeletehi, I just tried the Danish, they are so delicious. Can you tell me what kind of consistency is the right for the filling and is your dough getting real cross? Anyway, hope you can answer my questions, my family loved the "snack" and my husband took another piece, but he had to leave out the diner :))), cannot wait to try the recipe for friends, will be a total hit!
ReplyDeleteHi Martha, I'm so happy to hear that you all enjoyed the danish! The consistency of the filling is a little creamy and fluffy when mixed and then once it baked it became a little airy. I'm not quite sure what you mean about cross...can you explain?
DeleteWill be making this Tuesday night for a work lun h on Wednesday. How should it be stored overnight?should it be refrigerated? Is it meant to
ReplyDeleteBe served warm?
I sent you an email :)
DeleteI tried it with both croissant and puff pastry dough. Liked puff pastry much better (although it takes a few more minutes to bake). Also added crushed walnuts to the cream cheese and Nutella mix for a more nuttier filling. Liked it, too. Couldn't figure out how to melt Nutella to the point that it could be drizzled (microwave did not help).
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you enjoyed it :)
DeleteOmg This was sooo delicious!! I've made this real quick tonight as I had the ingredients on hand already and wanted dessert that wasn't too sweet. These are to die for! Love love LOVE this! Thank you for sharing!
