  2. I've never heard of poppyseed filling. Is it like a paste? I can buy poppyseeds by the bucketload here but sadly no filling. :(

    This cake looks wonderful!

  3. Oh Yum! I'm sure your Pap will adore you for making his favorite. I make an awesome poppyseed bread (almond extract...orange juice glaze - MMM!) but have never made anything with this filling either. It's gotta be good. I'll buy a can of the filling when I see it again and give this a whirl. Happy Birthday Wishes to your Dad!!

    2. My mum made a great poppyseed cake using the seeds. She also used sour cream and almond flavor vanilla extract....it has always been a Christmas favorite in our family. The batter was really stiff and you had to make it with an electric mixer
