I have to admit, I never owned a large food processor. I have a small one, but not a large one. I always said I would get around to buying one, but somehow it didn't happen. Thankfully I was asked to review the Nutri Ninja 2-in-1 which is not only a blender, but a large food processor too. I got busy making smoothies, shakes, whipping eggs, making doughs, and mixing batters! If you'd like to own one then enter the giveaway below.
The Nutri Ninja comes with a Power Pod, Geared Lid, 40 oz./56 oz. Storage Lid, 2 To-Go Lids, Processor Blade, Single Dough Blade, Double Dough Blade, Nutri Ninja Blade Assembly, 40 oz. Processor Bowl, two 16 oz. Nutri Ninja Cups, and a recipe book. This all comes in one box so it's the perfect way to get you started. The first thing I did was put a few ice cubes in one of the cups...
then I screwed on the blade assembly and put it on the power pod. In a matter of a few seconds the ice was completely crushed and ready for an icee. It's the perfect way to cool off on a hot day!
The next morning we made smoothies. We put in some milk, frozen greek yogurt, and lots of fruit. Once again, put it on top of the power pod and push down.
After a few seconds, out comes a creamy fruit smoothie that's ready to go!
I couldn't wait to make dough in the processor. I normally make mine by hand with messy fingers so I was very excited. I made the recipe that's included in the book.
For the processor you put the power pod on top, pulse it a few times (see that big green circle, that's where you push to pulse!) and in about a minute the dough comes together.
I also wanted to see how well the processor did blending unpeeled vegetables. I like the nutritional benefits of leaving the skins on, but I don't like it if they're not blended well. So we tossed in some carrots and cucumbers, added a little fruit and a scoop of yogurt. Out came a smooth and delicious drink. I've been making this for the kids everyday and I don't mind because it's so simple and it's very healthy.
What's nice about the processor bowl is that it has a spout that opens and closes. It makes it quite easy to pour the drinks or open it up to add some oil or water while you're making a dough.
Clean up is a breeze too! I just rinse everything out and let it air dry; I leave mine on the counter since we use it every day. This is definitely my new favorite gadget!
Don't you want one too? Now you get the chance to WIN one!

ReplyDeleteI have never owned a Ninja, but have heard so many good things! I am still using my food processor from the early 90's (No, I am no kidding) :) It is missing parts, but works in a pinch. I think it is time for something new!
