Welcome to featuring you!  Our Spotlight of the Week goes to Annie's Noms for sharing these beautiful Lemon Poppyseed Doughnuts.  As I get older, lemon poppyseed is something I really enjoy and find myself making it often so I can't wait to try this recipe.  There were so many recipes and projects shared this week, I wish I could feature them all...enjoy!

Dairy-Free & Egg-Free Lemon Bread with a Sweet Tart Glaze

It's football season and I know at our house we're watching all the games!  I love everything about football season...the chilly nights, the edge of your seat games, the friends, the family and especially the food.  We like to tail gate and we prepare quite an array of food.   However, as much as we like all the food, we do try to lighten things up every once in awhile.  So we like to do a Meatless Monday and incorporate some bean burritos, stuffed mushrooms, potato salad, and a lighter dessert.  One of our favorites is this dairy-free and egg-free Lemon Bread that is topped off with a sweet and slightly tart glaze.  It's simple to prepare and the perfect ending to a delicious dinner.

Lemon Crumb Bars

A rich base with a creamy lemon filling and a crumbly topping!

This recipe comes together in a matter of minutes since it starts with a lemon cookie mix.  Then you add in a few extra ingredients and you have a rich, delicious and creamy lemon bar.  I thought about adding only butter to the mix, however I decided to add in some cream cheese to take it over the top.  It really makes the crust and crumble quite unique!

Lemon Blueberry Poke Cake

 

I'm a big fan of poke cakes!  I love how an additional flavor gets seeped into an already moist and delicious cake.  It just takes the flavors up another notch.  I'm always trying to come up with different flavors and with blueberries being in season I thought it would be great to use those and add some lemon juice too.  I then made a lemon glaze and poured that into the holes while the cake was still warm...perfect!  This is a delicious breakfast cake or a great accompaniment to afternoon tea!

Lemon Sour Cream Pound Cake

Lemon and Sour Cream meld together perfectly in this pound cake and it's topped off with a tangy glaze! 

 

  

My favorite cake is my cream cheese pound cake!  It's so simple, and the taste is so delicious.  It has been one of the most popular recipes on the site and several people requested a lemon one.  Instead of making it with cream cheese I decided to opt for sour cream.  I think it brings that extra tang to it!  I did make a lemon glaze for it, however half of the family likes it with it while the other half preferred it without.  I like it without because I like the simplicity of the cake...a rich and delicious pound cake with a hint of lemon.   I'll put it on the recipe and you can decide for yourself if you want to make it or not...enjoy!

Luscious Lemon Tart

My son loves lemon doughnuts, but I usually don't fry anything so I couldn't make those for him...is there a good baked lemon doughnut recipe?  Anyways, I wanted to make him something special since his schedule is very hectic right now with soccer and football! While looking through my recipes I decided on a lemon tart, however a lot of them called for lots of sugar or lots of lemon juice!  I didn't want it to be sickening sweet or too tart so I decided to make my own. This recipe is slightly sweet with a subtle lemon taste to it...exactly what I wanted!
