Apple Chips with Caramel Dip Recipe

Bake apple slices until nice and crispy
then dip them in a delicious and decadent caramel sauce.

apples, caramel, dip, chips, dessert, recipe

Dessert doesn't always have to be a cake or ice cream, it can be a delicious apple chip! The kids love apples, but sometimes they start to eat one, get distracted and when they get back to it, it's brown.  I'm not one to waste food so I decided to slice it up, toss it in vanilla, cinnamon and sugar then bake until crispy.  I thought they reminded me of chips so I made a caramel dip to go with them.  It was a different type of dessert that we'll be having quite often.

Estonian Kringle - Braided Cinnamon & Sugar Bread

Estonian-Kringle-Braided-Cinnamon-Sugar-Bread-Flour-Me-With-Love

I love the smell of bread baking and what's even better is when it's a sweet yeast bread.  Estonian Kringle is a simple yeast dough that is lathered with butter, cinnamon and sugar then braided and twisted into a round loaf.  Once it's all baked you have a delicious and beautiful loaf of bread.  We tore ours into pieces and ate it while it was warm...it is so divine!  Today I'm making another loaf and drizzling on some cream cheese icing.  Either way, you'll enjoy this simple and impressive Estonian Kringle...enjoy!

French Bread Sticks

http://flourmewithlove.com/

My family loves pasta and they also love when I make French Bread or even better, French Bread Sticks!  They're the perfect size to dip into your favorite sauce or swirl around your plate.  When I make them with pasta I like to brush on some butter and then sprinkle on garlic powder and salt.  For more of a dessert style all you have to do is make them, brush them with butter and then sprinkle on some cinnamon and sugar.  You can even make this recipe into a loaf of bread and slather on some butter.  No matter what way, it's delicious!

Gooey Butter Brownies topped with Toffee

cocoa-sugar-dessert

I love quick and easy desserts; I especially love when the kids can help or basically make them by themselves!  These Gooey Butter Brownies topped with Toffee definitely fall into that category.  You start with my simple brownie recipe, add a layer of butter and cream cheese, then top it off with scrumptious toffee pieces!  The brownies are soft, the cream cheese is gooey and the toffee melts in your mouth...the perfect combination!

(No-Yeast) Cream Cheese, Cinnamon & Sugar Pinwheels

I'm not a breakfast type person, however there are times that I like something little on my stomach, but it can't be too sweet!  These cream cheese, cinnamon and sugar pinwheels worked out perfectly.  The dough requires no yeast so it's simple to make and can be assembled in very little time.  It also has cream cheese in it which makes it moist.  I sprinkled on some cinnamon and drizzled on a little bit of cream cheese icing (because I love it) and I must say they were perfect with a cup of tea!

Snickerdoodle Poke Cake

The kids love snickerdoodle cookies and I love coffee cakes.  So I thought why not put the two of them together, poke it with holes and pour a delicious vanilla glaze on top.  All that glaze seeps into the holes and makes it moist and delicious. It has just the right amount of sweetness and spice to satisfy your sweet tooth.  It's a simple cake to make and you most likely have all the ingredients on hand.  We all loved this cake which goes perfectly with a cup of tea!

Upside Down Apple Pie

My husband loves apple pie...I'd rather pass!  Every time I make it he insists I try a bite and taste how good it is.  For some reason I just don't like it.  Then the other day I was browsing recipes and came across Upside Down Apple PieI was excited that I had all the ingredients on hand so I whipped one up.  I must say, it's quite delicious!  I did change it a little, but the concept is the same.  It's very simple to put together and it looks beautiful too....enjoy!

Sticky Buns from Gooseberry Patch

I am so grateful to be an Early Bird reviewer and it's time once again to feature another amazing cookbook from Gooseberry Patch.  Whenever I get one of their cookbooks I always think that "it's" my favorite, but then I get a new one and that becomes my favorite!  Weeknight Dinners is broken down into days of the week and each day has a theme:  Meatless Monday; Tuesday is Tex-Mex Night; Wednesday is Italian Night; Comfort Food Thursday; and Just for Fun Friday!  How cute is that?  Now you'll never be wondering what's for dinner!  Of course I started off with the Sticky Buns, but I also made quite a few other recipes too.  I always plan our menus for the week and this book has been a lifesaver!

Paximathia

Paximathia, or Aunt Emmy's Greek Cinnamon Twice Baked Cookies are simple and delicious!  Recently I met a wonderful lady named Elizabeth via the internet.  Her and her sister finished their cookbook and wanted to know if I would share it on my Facebook page and of course I was more than happy to help.  She was so grateful that she sent me a copy of the book!

The Best Egg Custard Pie

When I was growing up my parents made Egg Custard Pie for the holidays and I wish they had made it more often!  I fell in love with it and it has become my favorite pieNow that I'm grown and have my own family I do make it quite often.  I've made a few changes to the recipe and I even had them tell me that it tastes better than the original one! The pie filling is similar to crème brulée, so if you like that, then you'll like this pie.

No-Yeast Strawberry Cream Cheese Braid

One of the most requested desserts I make is my Pineapple Cream Cheese Braid.  No matter who tries it, they love it! However it requires yeast and I know a lot of people are intimated by yeast.  So I decided to come up with a braid that doesn't require yeast and it's easy to make.  You just mix up the dough and filling, assemble it, bake and you're done.  In no time at all, you have a pretty and delicious breadPlus you can change the filling to whatever you prefer.  This bread is perfect for all your holiday gatherings!

Baked Churros

I'm not really into frying our food so I'm always looking for ways to take fried food and bake them so they'll taste just as good.  The kids love Churros, but I didn't know how they would taste baked, but I gave it a try anyways.  These turned out delicious!  Of course they don't have the exact same crispiness like the fried ones, however they have less grease  and they taste every bit as good. They're a little crispy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside!   In fact, they were so good that I can't really say how many this recipe makes because the kids were eating them as fast as I took them out of the cinnamon sugar mixture!

Polvorones de Canele - Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!  I had plans to make a unique dessert to celebrate, however after having four sick kids at home this week, my plans had to change.  I needed to make something that didn't require a lot of time and this recipe definitely doesn't.  These cookies taste like shortbread and snicker doodles rolled into one!  They melt in your mouth and taste delicious.  I look forward to making these a lot more!

Yummy Mall Pretzels!

My kids love the pretzels from the mall.  So when I saw this recipe on Allrecipes I knew I had to give it a try.  They turned out delicious!  I was really surprised at how easy they came together, but even more surprised at how much they tasted just like the ones from the mall.  Now we can have them whenever we want...which they're already asking for more!
