Easy Strawberry & Cheese Danish

Simple ingredients turned into a delicious Strawberry & Cheese Danish!

Simple ingredients turned into a delicious Strawberry & Cheese Danish!

I love making brunch on the weekends, and sometimes I like to make something sweet for the end of the meal.  After cooking all the other food, I really don't want to fuss with something that will take a long time and being that I love danishes this is the perfect recipe!  You can fill the danishes with just cream cheese, or add cherries, apples, chocolate...anything you'd like.  Strawberry and Cheese is our favorite, but a close second is cheese with chocolate drizzled on top.  These are simple to make and quite delicious to enjoy!

Summer is in full swing and I love all the fresh fruit in season!  My family loves strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries so I made this quick and easy Sugar-Free Berry Cheesecake Salad.  It's sugar-free and made with fresh whipped cream...no frozen whipped topping! It's creamy, delicious, and oh so good.  This is the perfect dessert on a hot summer day which the whole family will enjoy!

How to Make Easy Strawberry Shortcakes with Greek Yogurt

Shortbread is one of our favorites and Strawberry Shortbread Trifle is a favorite dessert of ours.  However, sometimes I don't need to make a big trifle so I like to make these cute little strawberry shortcakes.  I love to top them off with greek yogurt because it's delicious, simple and good for you too!  I then slice up some strawberries and mix them with a little bit of preserves to make them glisten for the perfect topping...simple to make and delicious to eat!

Strawberry Cream Cheese Icebox Cake Recipe

Graham Crackers drizzled in chocolate then layered with fresh whipped cream and cream cheese;
add sweet strawberries and repeat the layers for a simple and delicious icebox cake!

Strawberry Cream Cheese Icebox Cake Recipe, graham crackers, chocolate syrup

The warm weather is here and I love making no-bake desserts.  Strawberry Cream Cheese Icebox Cake is the perfect recipe for quick, easy and delicious!  It's put together in a matter of minutes, there's no baking necessary and it can be made ahead of time too.  It starts with graham crackers that are drizzled with chocolate syrup then fresh whipped cream, cream cheese and powdered sugar are mixed together and smothered onto the graham crackers.  I added some sweet strawberries and repeated the layers for the perfect icebox cake.  You have to let this sit for at least two hours, however the longer you do, the softer the graham crackers get. We tried ours after two hours and I liked that the crackers were still a little crunchy, however the kids liked it when they were softer.  Either way, it's delicious!

Nutlella International Pancake Tuesday!

Delicious Nutella® & Fruit come together on a fluffy pancake!

flourmewithlove.com

Tuesday February 17th is International Pancake Tuesday; "Spread the Happy" and it's the perfect time to make one of our favorite meals. On the weekends I love to make a big breakfast. We all sit down together, talk and enjoy breakfast with each other and catch up on things. The whole family loves pancakes, but when I top them with Nutella® and fruit it seems like I can't make them fast enough!

The Best (and simplest) Fruit Dip ever!

I love seeing all the fresh strawberries at the stores and I also love the price!  Whenever they go this low I usually stock up on quite a few pints.  The kids love to eat them plain, on top of yogurt, in smoothies, on pancakes, and especially with dip.  This Fruit Dip is so simple to make and you only need a few ingredients...which I usually have on hand all the time.  Not only will you love the taste, but how easy this is to make and take to all your summer picnics and parties...enjoy!

Lower Carb Sugar-Free Strawberry "No Pretzel" Dessert

A lower carb, sugar-free strawberry jello dessert with real whipped cream!

A lower carb, sugar-free strawberry jello dessert with real whipped cream!

Recently I was asked if I could make a sugar-free and lower carb dessert.  I'll be honest, I haven't experimented a lot with sugar substitutes so I'm not familiar with them.  I decided to make this strawberry "no-pretzel" dessert because there isn't a lot of sugar substitute in it and you only bake the crust so I knew I couldn't mess that up!  I omitted the pretzels and replaced them with pecans & almonds to make the perfect crust.  The filling is made with splenda, sugar-free jello, real whipped cream and it's all wrapped into one delicious dessert!

Brown Sugar (Shortbread) Fruit Pizza

Fruit pizzas are usually made with a sugar cookie crust, but I honestly don't care for it. What I do care for is shortbread!  I love the rich buttery taste, how flaky it is and how it melts in your mouth.  My recipe has brown sugar in the shortbread and the cream cheese making this a decadent dessert.  It's very simple to make and you can top it off with whatever fruit you have on hand.  Drizzle a little extra icing on top and you have a quick, easy  and delicious dessert...I hope you enjoy!

Chocolate Cream Puffs with Whipped Cream Cheese & Strawberries

I think cream puffs are such an elegant dessert.  You can make them mini, long, into a tower, or even big like I did.  No matter how you make them, they're always delicious!  This time I decided to make chocolate ones so I added some cocoa powder and sugar to my dough.  Then I made a light and fluffy filling that has cream cheese and real whipped cream...and if that wasn't enough I decided to add in some sweetened strawberries.  The combination of flavors makes a delicious, delicate and beautiful dessert!

Strawberry (filled) Shortcake Tarts

I love this time of year when all the fresh fruit is on sale.  Our kids love fruit so I bought a ton of strawberries, blueberries, watermelons, and kiwi the other day.  Plus I couldn't wait to come up with some new desserts!  First up are these cute little strawberry shortcake tarts.  They are little shortcakes filled with sweetened strawberries, topped with cream cheese icing and a chocolate drizzle.  They're delicious and simple to make too!  With the warmer weather here I don't like to spend hours on dessert; you can whip these up in no time!

No-Yeast Strawberry Cream Cheese Braid

One of the most requested desserts I make is my Pineapple Cream Cheese Braid.  No matter who tries it, they love it! However it requires yeast and I know a lot of people are intimated by yeast.  So I decided to come up with a braid that doesn't require yeast and it's easy to make.  You just mix up the dough and filling, assemble it, bake and you're done.  In no time at all, you have a pretty and delicious breadPlus you can change the filling to whatever you prefer.  This bread is perfect for all your holiday gatherings!

Easy Homemade Puff Pastry from Scratch

Every time I go to the store I look for puff pastry, however they never have it.  I started reading about how to make it from scratch and the "classic" recipe seemed to take a lot of work and timeSo I kept looking and then I found this recipe from King Arthur Flour that sounded so easy and it didn't take all day either!  I tweaked it a little, gave it a try and I'm so happy that I did.  It turned out wonderful and it was so simple to make.  Plus the end result is so flaky and buttery!  Once you try this, you'll never go back to store bought again!  It was early morning so I decided to fill mine with cream cheese and strawberry preserves... like a toaster strudel.  I'm looking forward to trying it with so many other fillings too!

Strawberry Crumble

Rich flaky crust topped with strawberries and a buttery crumble!

Rich flaky crust topped with strawberries and a buttery crumble!

Don't you love it when you think something is going to turn out bad, but turns out fine...if not better!  That's exactly what happened with this cake.  I started out making this into bars, however once I put together the ingredients and realized I was out of brown sugar, I knew it wasn't going to turn out the way I wanted.  However, I continued on and actually am very happy with the way it turned out!  I don't want to call it a bar because once I cut into it and took a bite, it started to crumble!  Now it's a Strawberry Crumble that you should eat on a plate instead of your hands ;)  It's easy to prepare and it turned out delicious!

Dessert Tacos with Strawberry Cream Cheese Filling

We had tacos one night and I got to thinking about dessert tacos.  I know they make ice cream ones at the store, however I wanted to come up with something different Mission had sent me some of their new super soft flour tortillas and they worked out perfectly!  A delicious taco dessert that you can make in a matter of minutes and it requires no baking at all!

Vanilla Cream Cake

To celebrate the 4th of July I decided to make a red, white & blue cake.  This cake is a cross between a sponge and pound cake.  It's airy, but a little dense too (if that makes sense!)The icing is a vanilla buttercream; I make mine with half-n-half and I love the creamy taste that comes through.  I also don't use a lot of sugar because I don't want the sweetness to overpower the cake.  To go with the red, white & blue theme I used strawberries and blueberries!  This is a delicious, quick and easy cake to take to all your picnics this holiday...enjoy!

Chocolate, Strawberries & Cream Dessert

Have you ever seen those strawberries that are filled with cream and then dipped in chocolate?  They look so good!  I didn't have time to make them so I decided to come up with a dessert that had the same flavor combination without all the work.  This is so simple to put together and it definitely hit the spot!

The Best of 2011

It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone! Although I must say, it has been a wonderful one.  To celebrate I thought I'd count down the ten most popular posts of 2011.  There were some close calls as to which would end up in second, third and fourth.  However, the most popular post won by a landslide.  I hope you enjoy the countdown and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Strawberry Shortbread Trifle

Shortbread is the perfect little treat; it's light, flaky and buttery.  It tastes great by itself, but even better when you layer it with some sweetened cream cheese, frozen whipped topping, jello and fresh strawberries.  Repeat the layers and you have a dessert that's simple to prepare, tastes delicious and looks beautiful.  Perfect to take to all those summer picnics!

Strawberry Cream Cheese Roll

Strawberries and cream cheese go perfectly together. I made a light and airy sponge cake, spread on strawberry preserves and a delicious cream cheese filling. Rolled it all into one for a perfect spring time dessert!
