Easy Strawberry & Cheese Danish

Simple ingredients turned into a delicious Strawberry & Cheese Danish!

Simple ingredients turned into a delicious Strawberry & Cheese Danish!

I love making brunch on the weekends, and sometimes I like to make something sweet for the end of the meal.  After cooking all the other food, I really don't want to fuss with something that will take a long time and being that I love danishes this is the perfect recipe!  You can fill the danishes with just cream cheese, or add cherries, apples, chocolate...anything you'd like.  Strawberry and Cheese is our favorite, but a close second is cheese with chocolate drizzled on top.  These are simple to make and quite delicious to enjoy!

Creamy cookie butter mixed with cream cheese and baked in a flaky crescent dough!

Have you tried cookie butter?  We recently did and it is divine!  It's creamy, spreadable, and made with cookies that have a hint of gingerbread.  You can spread it on toast, bagels, or even eat it straight from the jar!  I decided to mix some with cream cheese, a little bit of powdered sugar, and bake it in a flaky crescent roll dough.  This danish is simple to make, bakes in a matter of minutes, and is perfect for breakfast or dessert.

The easiest Cheese Danish you'll ever make!

Cream cheese, crescent rolls and cinnamon sugar make a simple & delicious danish!

cream, cheese, cinnamon, sugar, crescent, rolls, breakfast, dessert

I love waking up the family with the smell of fresh baked pastries.  I'll make stuffed cinnamon rolls, no-yeast cinnamon sticky rolls, cinnamon roll coffee cake , scones... you name it, and I'll bake it!   Sometimes I don't have a lot of time so I like to make Cheese Danishes.  They are truly the simplest pastry you'll ever make!  All you have to do is pop open a can of crescent rolls, fill them up with sweetened cream cheese, crimp them shut, bake and enjoy!  We've also added in some preserves, nutella, fruit, even chocolate.  The combinations are endless and in a matter of minutes you'll have a scrumptious breakfast, brunch or dessert!

Easy Homemade Puff Pastry from Scratch

Every time I go to the store I look for puff pastry, however they never have it.  I started reading about how to make it from scratch and the "classic" recipe seemed to take a lot of work and timeSo I kept looking and then I found this recipe from King Arthur Flour that sounded so easy and it didn't take all day either!  I tweaked it a little, gave it a try and I'm so happy that I did.  It turned out wonderful and it was so simple to make.  Plus the end result is so flaky and buttery!  Once you try this, you'll never go back to store bought again!  It was early morning so I decided to fill mine with cream cheese and strawberry preserves... like a toaster strudel.  I'm looking forward to trying it with so many other fillings too!

Danish Cherry Cheesecake

We loved this dessert!  So much that I made it twice in two days!  I wasn't quite sure what to name it so I just called it how the layers were done.  A layer of cake danish dough, then cherries, then a decadent layer of cream cheese that turns out like creamy cheesecake.   We ate it while it was a little warm and it was perfect!  This would be a wonderful dish to make for Mom this Sunday :)  Happy Mother's Day to you all!
